Rep Buying Glossary

Claimed to be an exact replica of the authentic item — same materials, same dimensions, same everything. In practice "1:1" is a seller claim, not a guarantee. Always verify with community QC posts rather than trusting seller descriptions.

A Chinese buying service that purchases from Taobao, Weidian or 1688 on your behalf. Because these platforms require Chinese payment methods and don't ship internationally, agents act as middlemen — they buy, warehouse, photograph and then ship your items internationally. Major agents: CNFans, Kakobuy, ACBuy, Sugargoo, Superbuy, USFans.

The small plastic or metal tip at the end of a shoelace. In rep QC, checking the aglet finish is a standard step — poor quality aglets are a common sign of a lower-tier batch.

Short for "authentic" — the genuine retail product. Used in comparisons: "Auth quality" means the rep is near-identical to the original. Not to be confused with "authorized" (factory-authorised but not brand-official, a grey area).

A specific production run from a specific factory. Different factories produce different quality levels of the same shoe or item. Community members document batches with QC photos so future buyers know what to expect. The batch is usually named after the factory or a key feature.

A highly regarded Yeezy 350 V2 batch known for using Basf Boost material — considered close to authentic Boost feel and appearance. One of the premium Yeezy batch options.

A rep item with minor cosmetic defects that make it unsuitable for first-quality sale. B-grade items are often sold at a significant discount. Defects might include minor stitching issues, slight colour inconsistencies or packaging damage.

The specific colour combination of a shoe or item. For example, the Jordan 1 "Chicago" is a specific colourway (red/white/black). When ordering, always specify the exact colourway — different colourways often come from different factories or batches.

Combining multiple items from your agent's warehouse into a single outbound shipment. Instead of shipping 5 items in 5 separate parcels, you store them all and ship together. This saves significantly on per-kg shipping rates and also reduces customs profile.

To purchase an item. Derived from US slang. "Did you cop the Jordan 1?" means "Did you buy it?" W2C (Where to Cop) is the most common form of this term in the rep community.

The value stated on the customs declaration form when your agent ships your parcel internationally. This figure determines whether import duties apply. Most agents allow you to set a declared value below the actual purchase price to minimize customs fees. Declaring the EU threshold (€150) or below is common practice.

The minimum value threshold below which customs duties do not apply. EU: €150. UK: £135. US: $800 (subject to change). Parcels declared below this threshold are generally duty-free, though VAT may still apply in some countries.

Short for "duplicate" — a product made to look like a more expensive branded item. Used more casually than "rep" and popular on TikTok and Instagram. The terms are largely interchangeable but "dupe" is more mainstream/casual while "rep" is more community-specific.

An economy international shipping service originally developed as a China Post / USPS collaboration. Affordable but slower (2–4 weeks). The tracking updates are less frequent than express options but the price makes it the most common choice for rep hauls.

Buying directly from the factory that produces the items rather than through a reseller on Taobao. Factory direct purchases typically offer lower prices but require larger minimum order quantities and are harder to access for individual buyers.

The period during which your agent holds purchased items in their warehouse at no charge. Most agents offer 60–90 days free storage, giving you time to build a haul before shipping. After the free period, a small daily fee typically applies.

A well-regarded Jordan 1 batch, considered among the best for multiple colourways. Known for accurate toe box shape and clean stitching. The "G5" designation refers to the factory code.

Short for "Green Light" — community approval that an item is good quality and worth buying. The opposite is "RL" (Red Light). When you ask for a GL on a find, you're asking the community to confirm it's a quality pick worth ordering.

Short for "God batch" or used hyperbolically to mean the absolute best available version. Sellers use this as a marketing term — always verify independently.

A batch of multiple items ordered and shipped together, often after consolidation. Haul posts on Reddit show all items from a single shipment with QC photos and reviews. Shipping multiple items as one haul significantly reduces per-item shipping costs.

A popular Nike batch known for producing quality Dunk Lows and Air Force 1s. The H12 designation is widely referenced in W2C posts and is considered a reliable mid-to-high tier batch.

Alibaba's wholesale marketplace — primarily B2B, often the cheapest source for rep items but typically requires bulk orders. Individual buyers usually access 1688 through a buying agent. Use the Link Converter to turn 1688 links into agent purchase links.

One of the most well-known Jordan 1 batch names. LJR is widely considered a top-tier batch for Jordan 1s, known for accurate shape, clean stitching and good colour matching. Frequently referenced in W2C threads.

Short for "legit link" — a verified seller link that the community has confirmed as genuine and reliable. Asking for an LL is common in Discord servers when you want a trusted source.

A person or service that finds and purchases items on your behalf, often within China. Different from a buying agent — a middleman is typically an individual, sometimes used for hard-to-find items or sellers who only communicate in Chinese.

The layer of material between the upper and the outsole of a shoe. In sneaker QC, the midsole colour accuracy and texture are critical checkpoints — yellowing or wrong-shade midsoles are a common defect in lower-tier batches.

Currently considered the best available Jordan 1 batch as of 2026. Known for the most accurate toe box shape, heel tab height and stitching quality. OW stands for the factory initials. This is the go-to recommendation for Jordan 1 buyers in most rep communities.

Outfit of the Day — a social media format popular on Instagram and TikTok where rep buyers show their full outfit, often featuring multiple rep pieces. OOTD posts are a major way rep products go viral.

A highly regarded Yeezy 350 V2 batch — PK stands for "Perfect Kicks". Considered one of the best available Yeezy batches for most colourways, known for accurate Boost texture and colour matching.

A major buying agent that was shut down by Chinese authorities in 2024. Formerly one of the most popular agents, particularly with the Western rep community. Former Pandabuy users have mostly migrated to CNFans, Kakobuy and Sugargoo.

Quality Control — the process of inspecting your item before approving international shipment. Your agent photographs the item when it arrives at their warehouse. You review the photos and decide to approve or reject. Use the QC Checklist to know exactly what to look for.

The outcome of your QC inspection. A QC pass means you're happy with the item and approve shipment. A QC fail (or "reject") means you've found a defect and want the agent to request a return or replacement from the seller before shipping.

Short for "replica" — a product manufactured to look like a branded item but produced independently of the brand. The neutral community term. Quality ranges from very low to near-authentic depending on the factory and batch.

Red Light — community signal that an item or seller is NOT recommended. The opposite of GL (Green Light). If a community member gives an RL, it usually means there are known quality issues, scam history or better alternatives available.

Surface Air Lifted — an economy international postal service that combines road and air transport. One of the most common shipping methods for rep hauls due to its low cost. Typically 2–4 weeks delivery. Lower customs interception risk than express services.

The percentage an agent charges on top of the item price for their purchasing service. Ranges from 0% (Sugargoo, USFans) to 5–10% (Superbuy). This is separate from the shipping cost and exchange rate markup. Use the Fee Calculator to compare.

A Google Sheet containing curated links to rep sellers for specific products. Community members maintain spreadsheets for popular items (Jordan 1s, Yeezys, bags) with verified seller links, batch information and price notes. Spreadsheets are shared on Reddit and Discord.

Short for Taobao. Frequently abbreviated in community posts. "TB link" means a Taobao product link.

Where to Cop — a request asking where to find a specific item. The most common post type on rep subreddits. When someone posts "W2C Jordan 1 Chicago", they want a Taobao or Weidian link for that product. Once you have a W2C link, use the Link Converter to open it in your agent.

A Chinese mobile-first storefront platform popular with rep sellers. Simpler than Taobao for sellers to set up, which makes it popular for rep storefronts. Many top rep sellers operate exclusively on Weidian. Requires a buying agent for international purchases.

Your agent's storage facility in China where purchased items are held before you approve shipping. Items arrive at the warehouse after the seller ships, QC photos are taken here, and items can be stored for 60–90 days free before being consolidated and shipped to you.
